Session 1: Learning to Question Worksite Wellness
Wellness programs are one of the hottest topics in health care these days with everyone talking about how important they are. But, few are addressing how to best develop strong, effective programs or how to evaluate whether a program that is presented to your organization is solid and will deliver results. That's why America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) has developed a multi-part Virtual Symposium on Worksite Wellness that will give you dozens of tips to build and evaluate wellness programs, all from the convenience of your office. HWI is proud to be a participating organization for this innovative learning event.
Broken into nine one-hour-long sessions that will take place over three days (April 21, April 28, and May 5, 2010), you'll learn about developing and evaluating wellness programs for large and small employers, how the Web and other virtual tools can influence wellness program decisions, screening programs, and more. Following each session, there will be a question and answer period, allowing you to talk directly with available panelists representing multiple stakeholders and leading wellness experts from around the country.
In the opening panel session, "Learning to Question Worksite Wellness," Michael H. Samuelson, President and CEO of HWI will take part in a discussion about how to achieve and replicate worksite wellness programs that deliver on the promise of measurable health and productivity improvements. The purpose of this session is to empower listeners with the questions and answers they need to evaluate a new or existing program by candidly identifying both ends of the success continuum. Takeaways will include a checklist of the traditional and non-traditional program elements that provide the best chance for a successful worksite wellness program.
