In celebration of National Food Day, The Health & Wellness Institute will be hosting a Food Day Festival on Friday, October 21st. National Food Day is a grassroots movement driven by individuals and organizations that share a passion for promoting a healthy, sustainable, and just food system.
The Food Day Festival is free and open to the public. Festival attendees will have the opportunity to visit with local farmers, purchase locally grown produce, receive a body composition screening from The Health & Wellness Institute’s Wellness Van, and have their nutrition questions answered by certified Health Educators at the Nutrition 101® Stop-by.
As part of the Festival, The Health & Wellness Institute will showcase its new program, Health’s Kitchensm, a dynamic cooking demonstration and food tasting that shows participants how to fit healthy eating easily into their lives. The Health’s Kitchen demonstration is delivered by Real Food First, a team of experienced food professionals dedicated to making positive and healthy changes to the foods that are offered to employees and/or others.
“The partnership with Real Food First is an exciting venture for us,” said Manager of Product Innovation, Todd Farias, “Health’s Kitchen teaches healthy eating in a practical and interactive way by bringing the kitchen to our clients.”
The Food Day Festival will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Health & Wellness Institute, 291 Promenade Street, Providence, RI. To attend the festival, attendees should visit the Eventbrite site and register.
