Stress may not be as visible as obesity or tobacco use. But, studies prove that stress is a major risk factor for chronic conditions such as high blood pressure and heart disease, and contributes to increased absenteeism and lost productivity in the workplace.
HWI's stress management programs are designed to help participants cope with the physical and mental symptoms of their stress reactions and better control the sources of stress in their everyday lives. By achieving a positive work-life balance, recognizing stress triggers, and forming healthy sleeping habits, participants will be better equipped to respond to the challenges they face in their professional and personal lives.
Unwind®: A Practical Approach to Coping with Stress – Onsite - This award winning six-week interactive program helps participants learn how to live a stress-resilient lifestyle through relaxation techniques, healthy living, and conflict management skills. Since stress affects each person differently, the program is tailored to the individual participant's needs, and participants will learn practical stress-relieving techniques appropriate for their lifestyle and personality type.
Unwind®: Your Personality – Onsite – This one-hour workshop provides participants with strategies for dealing with stress by helping them understand the strengths and challenges associated with their dominant personality type. Participants will emerge from the Unwind: Your Personality workshop with an increased self-awareness and practical information to help them be more productive and stress-resilient in their personal and professional lives.
Unwind®: Coping Skills – Onsite – This one-hour interactive class gives participants practical tools to help reduce the harmful effects of stress on the body. A certified Health Educator guides the class through short- and long-term relaxation techniques designed to increase awareness of the mind-body connection. Participants will leave the Unwind: Coping Skills class with a change in perspective and the confidence to control their emotional and physical reactions to stress.
i choose to live healthy®: stress management – Online and DVD – In our fast-paced culture, it’s easy to feel like you’re being pulled in a hundred directions at once. The i choose to live healthy: stress management program is designed to help individuals get back in the driver’s seat and take control of the stress in their life. Disc 1 of this two-disc set contains a series of short videos designed to fit into the participant’s busy lifestyle. These videos will show how stress can impact the participant’s life, and how they can regain control. They also feature real-life scenarios to give the individual practical advice to help manage conflicts and relax in stressful situations. Disc 2 is an audio CD in which nationally recognized wellness expert Michael Samuelson leads the participant through a 20-minute visualization exercise.
- Relate® – Self-directed – Relate is a four-week self-directed program designed to help participants improve their relationships with friends, family, and co-workers. Participants will learn strategies to make any relationship succeed, coping techniques for relationship challenges, and tips to make any conflict productive.
- Renew® – Onsite and Self-directed – More than 70% of Americans report having a restless night at least one day a week. During this interactive, one-hour seminar, participants will explore the relationship between our waking hours and sleeping hours. Participants will learn about activities that promote a restful evening, visualize an environment conducive to sound sleep, and test their sleep knowledge. Participants will leave with the confidence and ability to plan for a better night’s sleep.
- Renew® Stop-by – Onsite – Sleep is essential to overall health, productivity, and on-the-job safety. The Renew Stop-by helps busy employees learn how to get a good night’s sleep every night of the week by providing a table of educational materials and the opportunity to speak with a certified Health Educator. Whether they are busy parents, overnight travelers, night shift workers, or just stressed from a long work week, employees can participate in hands-on activities to learn how their daily habits affect their sleep, and receive tips to develop a healthy bedtime routine.
