Smoking Cessation

Cigarettes and other tobacco products are the leading causes of preventable illness and death in the United States. On the job, smokers experience absenteeism rates that are up to 50% higher than non-smokers, and studies estimate that productivity losses cost employers more than $80 billion annually. With smoking cessation programs from HWI, employers can invest in the long-term health and productivity of their workforce by helping their employees to quit this deadly habit.

  • Smokefree® Series – Onsite – Smokefree is a nine-session group smoking cessation program that helps participants to quit smoking and maintain a healthier lifestyle.  The program instructor will discuss: addiction and individual smoking habits; coping strategies and stress management; nicotine replacement therapies (NRT) such as the patch, gum, lozenges, inhalers and nasal sprays, as well as the use of certain prescription medications; and developing a lifestyle of total health through positive fitness and nutrition habits.  Participants in Smokefree will benefit from the support and encouragement of a group environment, and each individual will designate a nonsmoker outside of the program as their sponsor. The instructor will administer carbon monoxide testing at the beginning of each session to help determine each participant's smoking status.

  • Smokefree® Basics – Onsite – This 45-minute seminar is designed to help participants kick start their quit smoking plan.
