Engagement Models

Individual participation is the deciding factor for the success of any health management platform. Although most health plans have invested significantly in "high-reach" telephonic and online resources for condition, care, and utilization management, the universal challenge facing this approach is engagement at the individual level. Our experience with health plans throughout the country indicates that member awareness and motivation to use these resources is low, despite telephonic, mail, and online outreach by the plan and/or its vendors.

Therefore, to support our health plan clients and help them increase the value of their high-reach resource investments, HWI customizes and deploys high-touch service models. Features of this approach include:

  • Regional/community-based models which aggregate dispersed small businesses and individuals through events and forums to facilitate face-to-face interaction
  • Face-to-face interaction to personalize the health management experience for the member and provide individualized support
  • Frequent and repeated contact through multi-channel communications and promotions
  • Strategic incentive design, with tracking, reporting, and fulfillment support

By educating the individual about their health and the steps they can take to enjoy a better quality of life, HWI's engagement models lower barriers to individual participation and generate member interest in (and utilization of) the health plan's full portfolio of resources, from prevention to condition management.
