Ellen Conway

Assistant Vice President, Strategic Consulting


Ellen provides leadership for strategic consulting, product implementation, and account management. She has primary responsibility for the goals, operations, retention, satisfaction, revenue and profitability for each client.

Ellen oversees a team of health management consultants and account managers who offer strategic council to worksite wellness clients and project manage the delivery of multichannel behavior change products and services to employees in retail, manufacturing, financial and other professional services, healthcare, unions, municipal environments and community settings. She also serves as the primary manager of the client relationship and contract obligations at the executive level supporting HWI’s several Blues plan clients with accountability to achieve results as well as meet client deliverables and expectations.

As a result of her external consulting experience and background in the healthcare, health insurance, and information technology industries, Ellen brings insights and develops recommended solutions to the multi-disciplinary teams at HWI that create new products and services. Ellen’s external focus in the product development process is individual, employer and broker application and advising clients on meeting their wellness and business goals. With her experience in product marketing, she also assists in creating messaging that can be seamlessly integrated into new or existing products.

 

Prior to her leadership role, Ellen served in various capacities at HWI including Sr. Consultant and Manager of Client Services.

 

Before joining HWI, Ellen served as a project manager in the Product Marketing area for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island. Ellen’s work experience also includes leading a product development team at GTECH, a worldwide transaction processing and gaming company, to create a Web-enabled decision support and reporting solution. Ellen managed all aspects of product strategy and day-to-day marketing for key enterprise solutions in Product Marketing, and led several procurement teams in new business development and retention sales initiatives in the Business Proposals bid unit.

 

She also worked in the Corporate Communication office of a New Hampshire-based insurance affiliate of ING Group, a global financial services firm and as a healthcare practitioner and in the Public Affairs office at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, MA. She studied nursing and holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Communications/Media with a concentration in professional and technical writing. She has also earned several business and health insurance-related certifications.
