JOB SUMMARY
Support the overall goal of The Health & Wellness Institute (HWI) to improve the health of its clients and to be their partner in health and wellness. This will be accomplished by administering finger stick biometric screenings at worksite wellness programs and community health screening activities as they relate to HWI's Internal Lab Screening Services.
REPRESENTATIVE JOB DUTIES
Perform finger stick biometric screenings and blood pressure measurements at worksite wellness and community events in Rhode Island and surrounding states. Comply with all policies and procedures related to the Internal Lab Screening Services scheduling protocols for on-site events, both locally and nationally. This includes making sound decisions in a timely manner and reacting appropriately to program scheduling conflicts, troubleshooting equipment issues, and any other potential obstacles. Adhere to certification/resource management protocols as dictated by the HWI Center of Excellence Model. Conduct ongoing research and maintain current knowledge of all lab screening equipment/supplies, health promotion/education, and state, federal, and OSHA guidelines, licensing, and best practices. Maintain consistently positive communication with all internal and external clients to build relationships, optimize customer satisfaction, and to enhance future programming opportunities. Participate and adhere to all quality assurance requirements including, but not limited to, the Lab Screening Program: QC documentation, instrumentation operation/maintenance and troubleshooting, proficiency testing, equipment/supply inventory, RMW, and detailed BCBS/HWI confidentiality and QA policies and procedures. Complete all written/electronic monitoring requirements as directed. Screening program summary documentation includes, but is not limited to, participant totals, work flow operation, equipment or supply issues, worksite contact issues, concerns, feedback, etc. Communicate successes, challenges, and barriers to supervisor in a timely manner. Identify requirements for new programs, provide ongoing feedback, and work collaboratively with the Product Development and Health Education teams to continually enhance program offerings. Provide ad hoc services as directed by management. Work collaboratively with other HWI staff to ensure objectives are met in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
Knowledge of: Delivery of screening services to on-site client locations. Scheduling and staffing protocols. Biometric screening and blood pressure parameters, protocols, and local and national regulations.
Technical Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Complete understanding of the Cholestech biometrics screening equipment and manual and automated blood pressure equipment and mastery of its utilization. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot potential equipment problems. Adhere to all confidentiality guidelines and protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Medical Technician (Associates Degree); Medical Technologist (Bachelor's Degree or HEW Certification); Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN); Registered Nurse (RN-Associates or Bachelor's level), Bachelor's Degree in Health Promotion/Education, Public Health, Health and Human Services, or related specialty. Requires valid driver's license and use of own vehicle to travel throughout the state and to the occasional out-of-state client location. Requires a flexible schedule. At times must work outside of normal business hours to cover wellness events and/or attend required training programs.
Preferred Education, Additional Qualifications and Experience: Experience in quality assurance initiatives and inventory management. 5 years practical lab/screening experience.
