Art, Science and Technology
HWI’s solution set is based on a proprietary methodology blending art, science and technology to create a holistic self-management approach individually tailored to each participant’s unique needs, interests, attitudes and behaviors. This approach accelerates the individual behavior changes necessary to achieve optimal wellness and quality of life. This methodology permeates our entire product line whereby the focus of our programs is on the individual and his or her lifestyle choices, not the disease or condition.
The HWI methodology is not a better mousetrap; it’s a better way to catch mice. In market terms, the industry has been working on ways to improve basic population health management tools for years (i.e., building better mousetraps). As a result, offerings have become increasingly segmented. Even companies who offer a breadth of programs do not integrate them. For instance, you could be enrolled in a smoking cessation program and a weight loss program from the same vendor – neither program acknowledges or takes advantage of the data being collected by the other program. Companies who try to cobble together a complete solution using “best-of-breed” components are frustrated by the lack of integration.
We take a different approach (i.e., the better way to catch mice). HWI focuses on the individual and creates a unique experience based on all of the individual’s needs, while factoring in the strategic goals of the employer or health plan. If you set goals to quit smoking and lose weight, a truly integrated health management solution needs to be designed to help you accomplish both goals synergistically. This may seem like an obvious solution, but the execution requires a broader, deeper multidisciplinary knowledge base than most of HWI’s competitors have been able to muster.
